  • Working with a great state-wide committee!

Expectations of a conference committee member include:

  • Ability to travel to quarterly meetings. This is a statewide committee. Committee members are responsible for their own travel; travel is not reimbursed.
  • Contact information kept current with committee members. Ability to access the committee members via email or phone as needed.
  • Solid writing and presentation skills. Committee members provide written and verbal reports at meetings. Additionally, may be asked to introduce speakers at the conference. Ability to communicate effectively (friendly and approachable) with conference attendees and vendors.
  • Commitment to attend each conference while on committee. Fulfill duties of position and attend pre-conference activities the day before conference start.
  • Commitment to fulfill committee responsibilities. There is an 8 to 10 year commitment on the committee. Committee members serve in different positions each year through a succession plan, concluding with chairing the conference and serving as past chair.
  • Ability to work independently and as a group to ensure a successful conference. Must be able to work within budgets provided. Many positions require contact and communication with outside vendors.


Submitting these documents does not guarantee a position on the committee. All applicants will receive confirmation of receipt.

Typically, only 1 to 2 positions are available on the committee per year. Finalists may be asked to interview with the selection committee.
