We are going virtual for the 2020 Ohio HR Conference! The health and safety of our conference goers is our top priority, which is why we have come to the decision to make the 2020 conference completely virtual. This is an exciting new experience and we cannot wait to share everything that we have planned for our attendees.
Our General and Concurrent sessions will be available for viewing during the scheduled time and will be recorded providing an opportunity to view the presentations later to take advantage of all credits provided. Many of our speakers will be available during their scheduled session for "live chat" to answer questions. In a virtual environment you will not have to pick one concurrent session over another as all will be available to you in an on-demand platform.
The virtual HR Conference will include a virtual exhibit hall, networking games, social media interaction, and opportunities to view and experience conference activies when there are no scheduled sessions.

We certainly could not have predicted that the Future would be here so quickly, but we cannot wait to share this new opportunity with all of you in September, and will be sending updates accordingly. Prior to the conference, attendees will receive login instructions to "check-in" to the event. Like a registration booth, you will be able to enter the virtual platform to review the schedule, network and chat with other attendees, and download handouts.
Our opening session, presented by Johnny C Taylor, Jr., President and CEO of SHRM, will be streamed live and will not be available after it's scheduled session. All other sessions will be available on-demand for 90 days after the conference. You can view all concurrent sessions, allowing you to gain more credits than a traditionally-formatted, in-person conference.
We will have a virtual exhibit hall to interact with our exhibitors and sponsors. You can view video information, download brochures, chat directly with real people, and learn more about the latest in HR products and services.
The virtual conference will also include networking games, social media interaction, and opportunities to view and experience conference activities when there are no scheduled sessions.
Effective July 15, the conference registration price is $599 for all categories of attendees (members/non members/SHRM/non SHRM).
Perhaps the largest value for the virtual conference is the number of credits offered. Typically the Ohio HR Conference offers 15-18 recertification credits. The 2020 virtual conference offers attendees up to 32.5 recertification credits. We believe that – based on the credit opportunities alone – the virtual conference is a great value for HR Professionals. When one adds in the comprehensive speaker line-up of topics, virtual exhibit hall, networking, and Q/A opportunities with our speakers and your fellow HR Professional - the value for your registration dollar is equal to or might even exceed the value associated with an onsite conference.
Here are just a few tips to help you get the most out of your virtual conference experience:
Set an event reminder - just like an on-site conference, keynotes, general sessions and concurrent sessions will start on schedule. We know you won't want to miss anything!
During speaker presentations, you may participate in the CHAT Feature. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and see other attendee questions too. If for any reason the speaker is not available during their session time, you may reach out to them via email.
If the speaker made a Handout available, you will find it in the meeting room. You may print off these materials to follow along with the presentation and to jot down notes. We'll also put them in another area of the conference site, to help you find theme easily - just look in the Handouts section.
We encourage you to complete an evaluation for each session you attend. This is a great way to give feedback to the conference committee as they plan for future events.
During the conference days, you will select which concurrent session you wish to attend during the scheduled times just like you do in an on-site event. But one of the added benefits of a Virtual Conference is that you now have the opportunity to watch ALL sessions in the On-Demand section. Here you'll be able to re-watch a session as well as see all the other presentations at your convenience. More great content. more certification credits. More flexibility. Sessions will be available in the On-Demand section for 90 days after the conclusion of the conference. Be sure to come back to take advantage of it all!
We encourage you to include giveaways and to "hand out" marketing materials to attendees. A giveaway creates buzz about your company and is a great way to interact. Get creative! This is an opportunity to offer prizes, a swag bag, or even create a sweepstakes.
A chat feature is available for you to use while attendees visit your virtual booth. You'll be able to chat with visitors, set up follow appointments, and have a conversation similar to one in an on-site exhibit hall.
